ReVivo Medical, LLC Receives 11th U.S. patent

ReVivo Medical, LLC announced today that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has awarded the Company its 11th U.S. patent which is in addition to the Company’s 2 overseas patents.  “Our goal at ReVivo Medical is to invent and bring to market medical devices that will improve patient outcomes and reduce costs.” says Gary Mittleman, president and CEO “Our defensible competitive position is only as good as the patents that protect our designs. Eight years of hard work has culminated in an array of patents that we believe will provide broad protection for a multi-billion-dollar market.”

“Anterior cervical plates and interbody cages are used in over 400,000 surgical procedures each year,” says Dr. Darryl DiRisio, Professor of Neurosurgery and A. John Popp Chair, Spinal Surgery at Albany Medical Center. “The primary measure of success in these operations is the rapid achievement of bone fusion which thereby stabilizes the spine.”

“Our cervical plate and cage implants are designed to improve bone formation and achieve a superior rate and quality of fusion as compared to the commonly used state of the art devices in use today,” explains Eric Ledet, PhD., Chief Science Officer. “Additionally, the designs of our implants incorporate unique features to make it easier for the surgeon to use.”

“These features are now broadly protected by an array of 11 U.S. patents, 2 foreign patents and 4 patents pending that have been granted to the Company,” states Glenn Sanders, Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer. “We have used a combination of utility patents, methods patents and design patents to build a comprehensive field of protection.”
